Hey Alan, here’s the information you were asking for, but I went the extra mile to calculate what it really costs for every cup of water produced.
The Enagic water filtration system that is certified as a medical device for home use ISO13485. It’s used by people wanting to stay at their peak health or get back into a healthy state (from chronic conditions both serious and mild) Our system makes ERW / Kangen water.
It costs $0.09 to produce 1 large 330ml cup of Kangen water or about $0.26 per litre. Compared with the best bottled spring water in the supermarket, it is so much more affordable.
The device also produces vegetables cleaning water 11.5PH and strong disinfectant water 2.5PH at about $0.43 per litre which is a price lower than anything on the supermarket shelves.
So if one person drinks about 4 litres of water a day, it costs just about $1.
I calculated this including electricity, water consumption, monthly DIY cleaning, yearly deep cleaning, cost of changing filters twice per year, investment in the K8 model – the most advanced machine manufactured by Enagic to date divided by the lifespan of the product over a period of 15 years. I’ve added all costs I can think of.
Product price range from $6700 to $2900. Calculations I made on this page are based on the most advanced K8 model – $6700. Here is the link to the Singapore Enagic product page https://www.enagic.com.sg/en/kangen-8
I paid it in full, some choose the 24 to 36 month interest free payment option which works out to about $186 per month for standard chartered cards (36 months installment) and $279 per month for OCBC cards (24 month installment) for the K8 model. The next best model, SD501 Platinum would be $160.50 per month (24months) or $240.75 per month (36 months)
What really tipped the scales in favour of owning my machine was the opportunity to share business profit using word of mouth network marketing with a global business (Enagic) with ownership of only 1 machine. No lifetime fees. I shared my thoughts on this page about word of mouth https://makeyourtapwaterbetter.com/word-of-mouth/
My own thoughts on Organic Avocados.
As I thought about the cost issue, I wondered if an organic Avocado was 20% more expensive, I might buy it because it’s better or maybe I might save my money and just buy the non-organic one. Now if they sold the organic Avocado at the same price as the non organic ones, I’d buy it for sure. And if they sold the health organic Avocados for a lower price than the non-organic ones, it really doesn’t make sense for me to but the non-organic Avocados anymore, I have no reason to. I would get the better and cheaper organic Avocado.
Following that thought, if the cost to consume the best drinking water from my Enagic Water system was more expensive than drinking the good bottled spring water, I might have to think about the overall impact. If the cost were the same, I’d go for the Enagic system as it is more convenient and no plastic bottle wastage. But now I find out that the best water (ERW / Kangen Water) is cheaper to produce ($0.26 cents per litre) than the good bottled spring water on the supermarket shelves, the cost discussion becomes clear what makes the most sense to me. I just had this thought last week and decided to write it down.
