FUEL UP for 2017

FUEL UP – To reach your 2017 goals, destination and to enjoy your journey.

I believe that there are 5 important ways to FUEL UP for 2017.

If you FUEL UP well, you will have enough power to reach your goals, dreams and destination.

The 5 ways you can FUEL UP are taking liquid fuel, solid fuel, mental fuel, soul fuel & social fuel. I’ll share on one new fuel each of day the first week of January 2017.

Liquid FUEL

Liquid fuel – Drink good liquids. Water. Fresh fruit juice. Vegetable juice. I personally drink all of these. I avoid things in a can or packet, soft drinks, sports drinks & packet fruit juice. If you have enough liquid fuel, you will go to the toilet every 90 min to 120 mins. That’s at least 7 to 8 times a day.

If you don’t go that often, you are dehydrated. You won’t be performing at your best without hydration for your brain and your body. Drink good liquid fuel, keep well hydrated and achieve all of your potential today.

3 Jan 2017 – Tuesday

Solid FUEL

Solid fuel – Eat good food. What is that? I used to eat fast food, up to 7 times a week or more than once in a day. Deep fried food, fries & steak were also part of my previous diet. I have since reduced most of that. I experimented on eating much more fresh fruit, vegetables, and lots of nuts like almonds, walnuts and seeds. I find that I have a lot more energy and it is sustained throughout the day. I eat salads where I can find them outside as I eat out for lunch and dinner. I also bring nuts and fruits as snacks on some days.

I do blend my breakfast. It’s solid food made into fresh fruit and vegetable juice (and a lot of other things too, I’ll share my recipes on another page). It can last my for 3.5 to 6 hours depending on what I put inside my blend. I haven’t eaten a “normal” breakfast for the most part of 2016, it’s mostly blended and I love the energy I get from it.

Eat well and make small changes to your diet, you will begin to see changes in your energy levels.

4 Jan 2017 – Wednesday

Mental fuel

Mental fuel – what you read, watch and think about. If you have a goal, you will reach it faster if you have the right information, read the relevant books written by experts and watch videos from good reliable sources.

Seek out good information on a topic, area of interest or career pursuit and fuel your mind with good information and positive thinking.

We can get influenced, excited and inspired by books, videos and blogs. Don’t rely only on yourself. Get fueled up and motivated by stories from others, their struggles, their success and what worked to help them succeed and achieve their goals.

If you lack mental fuel, you will run out of steam and may give up on your pursuit. Be watchful of your thoughts, negative thoughts will come, but you don’t have to entertain them or let them stay in your mind. Focus on thoughts and mental fuel that will propel you towards your dreams.

5 Jan 2017 – Thursday

Soul fuel

We are engaged in constant activity for the most part of each day. Our soul or spirit gets a re-fuel in a place of rest or calm. For some this could be spending time in quiet calm as part of each day, in prayer, meditation or a slow walk in nature or a restful place.

Our spirit gets recharged when we remind ourselves of our purpose, the “whys” of what we do, our beliefs. This could be a personal motto, an anchor and verse from the Bible or something you believe strongly about. My 3 word soul fuel for 2017 is Let God Lead.

When people feel “low” or exhausted, sometimes it’s the spirit or soul that needs to recharge and refuel, not just the body. Let your soul find rest and reconnect with your “whys” and your beliefs to re-energize & reach your full potential.

6 Jan 2017 – Friday

Social fuel

We live in a world with other people. Other people, friends, family, relatives, co-workers and classmates have the ability to influence us positively with their affirmation and encouragement. Seek out and spend time with people who will encourage you, support you and comfort you when you need a shoulder to lean on.

No great achievement was accomplished by a single person. Anyone can encourage another and see strengths in each other. If your social circle sucks the energy out of you with negative thoughts, comments and actions then it’s best to think about your eventual state if you continue to deplete your energy this way.

Being around hopeful, wise, positive and encouraging people will always lift you up. That’s adding fuel for your journey. If you have a big goal, share it with someone close to you who will encourage you. It could be a goal for your career, family, financial, project, fighting a chronic disease or whatever. This will give you a greater chance of reaching your goals than going at it alone.

If you ever run out of steam in your pursuit of your dreams, goals and targets, pause and fuel up in these areas and you will have the resource, mental energy, mind and physical energy to take another step towards your goals.

Top up your fuel tank and go the extra mile!
