This week I met with some events that could be described as turbulent or stormy. What a pilot does in these situations is to navigate out of it and stay on course. How nice if we could remind ourselves to think like pilots do when things do not turn out as we expect. Storms may come, but as you temporarily move around the storm, you ultimately want to be facing the correct direction once again.
A minor turbulence or major storm won’t deter a pilot and neither should it deter you from reaching your destination. Keep a look out for that dot which represents your ultimate goal. As long as you are moving, there will be turbulence and sometimes it may thunder and storm. It’s part of nature, don’t fight it just accept it.
In fact, the airplane is often slightly off course and the computer systems make minor and frequent adjustments to keep the plane on course. In my life and probably yours, there may be moments that you feel you are off course, not to worry, just make small adjustments early and you will be fine. Don’t wait too long to make needed adjustments though, make them early. This might be in areas of health, fitness, diet, scheduled time for loved ones or any important but non-urgent areas.
If your body is your plane then you are the pilot. Take good care of your plane, fuel up well, make frequent course corrections to stay on course. Don’t let turbulence stop you from reaching your destination. And if you’re going very far, make sure you stop over for a refuel. Think like a pilot.
